ANDERSON — McDonald County swept Springfield-area schools Glendale (44-36) and Parkview on Thursday.
Against Glendale, Eh Doh Say (113 pounds) pinned Kyle Justice in 5 minutes, 18 seconds, Jacob Owens (120) won a 17-5 major decision against Mason Goslee, Oscar Ortiz (126) pinned Josiah St. John in 37 seconds, and Jordan Meador (132) pinned Clint Wigginton in 2:56 to give the Mustangs a 23-0 start.
Junior Teriek (145) pinned Payton Ripper in 1:44, Jesus Ocampo (170) won a 20-6 major against Colman Ebisch, Jarred Maggard (220) pinned Thonan Rabourn in 3:32, and Ryan Donica (106) pinned Issiah Turner in 51 seconds to round out McDonald County's scoring.
Glendale picked up 18 points from three McDonald County forfeits at 182, 195, and 285.
In the dual against Parkview, McDonald County picked up 30 points from five forfeits (145, 152, 220, 106, 113) and Parkview gained 18 points from three forfeits (170, 195, 285) in a dual with only six matches.
Ortiz (126) pinned Bryan Lam in 32 seconds and Ocampo (182) won a 9-6 decision for the Mustangs' only victories in those six matches.
McDonald County returned to action Friday in the inaugural Big 8 Conference Tournament in Monett.
