CARTHAGE — The Neosho Wildcats had two golfers earn the right to advance to Class 4, Sectional 3 with their performances Monday at the Class 4, District 6 tournament at the Carthage Golf Course.

Sectional qualifiers Derrick Olsbo and Xander Woodward finished 11th and 21st, respectively, with an 15-over par 85 for Olsbo and an 19-over 89 for Woodward.

Kytn Francisco placed 32nd with an 95, Landon Werneke 37th with an 99, and Jace Parmley 39th with an 100.

Joplin and Willard qualified their respective teams for sectionals.

Joplin’s Fielding Campbell and Willard’s Greg Mitchals shared top golfer honors with their 5-over 75; the Eagles and the Tigers combined for seven golfers in the top 20.

Joplin hosts sectionals Monday at Schifferdecker Golf Course and welcome golfers from District 5. Glendale and Rock Bridge finished first and second, respectively, in that district.

— The McDonald County Mustangs had no golfers qualify for the sectional round after the Class 3, District 6 tournament Monday at the Cassville Golf Club.

Rendon Lane had the best finish in 36th with an 32-over 104 and Wyatt Habert placed 44th at 122, Samuel Whitehill 45th at 123, and Dayson Fickle 47th at 129.

Team scores: Logan-Rogersville 347, Webb City 348, Monett 351, West Plains 355, Nevada 364, Carl Junction 369, Reeds Spring 391, Cassville 392, Aurora 457, McDonald County 478.

— The Seneca Indians finished third overall in the team sweepstakes and four individuals qualified for the upcoming sectional round with their performances Monday in the Class 2, District 3 tournament at the Island Green Golf Club in Republic. Clever was the official host school.

Seneca’s Caleb Garcia cared an 19-over 91 and that placed him in a tie for sixth with Hollister’s Bryan Calovich and Fair Grove’s Gaven Peterie.

Dayton Fields wrassled a 20-over 92 good enough for a solo ninth place finish.

Eli Lawson joined three other golfers — Mount Vernon’s Colin Bartelsmeyer, Lamar’s Keller Huke, and Sarcoxie’s Zachary Workes — in a tie for 17th with their 105 scores.

Keegan Hamilton tied for 23rd at 109.

Diamond’s Blake Savage led the Wildcats in 33rd at 117, then Dennis Raben 40th at 126, Tyler Clement 44th at 139, Haylee Austin 49th at 154, and Yuta Koshida 50th at 157.

Seneca’s contingent travels next to the Rolling Hills Country Club in Versailles. Eldon and California finished 1-2 in the team sweepstakes in District 4.
