CARL JUNCTION — Neosho sophomore Jayden Browning highlighted Neosho’s showing with two gold medals at the Class 4, District 2 meet Saturday.

Browning won the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 1 1/4 inches and the triple with a 35-4 3/4.

Melynn Miller placed fourth in the high jump by clearing 4-8. The 4x400 of Taigen Mitchell, Michelle Lindsay, Destiny Colston, and Kylee Schmidt qualified for sectionals with a fourth in 4 minutes, 29.35 seconds.

On the boys side, Neosho qualified all four relays for sectionals — the 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800 squads each took second in 1:33.10 (4x200), 3:29.47 (4x400), and 8:21.00 (4x800).

Drew Osborne finished third in the javelin at 138-7 and Lakin House took second in the 400 in 52.04.

Meanwhile, McDonald County’s Corbin Jones and Elliott Wolfe continued their outstanding seasons.

Wolfe won the discus by tossing the implement 141-10, 4-4 longer than Willard’s Marshall Swadley, and Wolfe finished third in the shot put at 46-5 1/2.

Jones, who played a key role in McDonald County winning a Big 8 Conference team title, placed second in the 100 in 11.22 and third in the triple jump at 43-8 1/2.

Michael Williams finished third in the long jump at 20-11 1/4.
