After winning their first dual of the season against Aurora, the Neosho Lady Wildcats dropped their next two, both in Central Ozark Conference play, before coming back with a 7-2 triumph Wednesday over Monett.

Against the Lady Cubs, No. 1 singles Sarah Werner defeated Diana Rodriguez 8-2, No. 2 Emily Mitchell defeated Stacy Hurtado 8-3, No. 3 Michelle Lindsay defeated Melanie Hernandez Salas 8-2, No. 4 Gabrielle McCauley lost 8-5 to Sofia Semerad, No. 5 Rylee Marion fell 8-2 to Meagan Hull, and No. 6 Samantha Ortiz defeated Katherine Smith 8-5.

The Lady Wildcats swept all three doubles matches for a great start to the dual: No. 1 Werner-McCauley defeated Rodriguez-Hurtado 8-2, No. 2 Mitchell-Lindsay dispatched Hernandez Salas-Semerad 8-1, and No. 3 Marion-Ortiz defeated Hull-Smith 8-4.

In JV action, the team of Alexandra Olsbo and Emily Lemus won their doubles match and Emily Galbraith won a singles match.

Neosho fell 6-3 to Carl Junction on the road Tuesday, winning two singles and one doubles matches.

No. 2 singles Mitchell defeated Taylor Storm 8-5 and No. 6 Ortiz upended Hannah Clinage 8-5, but No. 1 Werner lost 8-1 to Abigail Hodson, No. 3 Lindsay lost 8-5 to Madeline Blackford, No. 4 McCauley lost 8-2 to Shirley Sherwood, and No. 5 Marion lost 8-1 to Mariah Barnett.

No. 3 doubles Marion-Ortiz defeated Barnett-Clinage 8-6, but No. 1 Werner-McCauley lost 8-4 to Hodson-Storm and No. 2 Mitchell-Lindsay lost 8-2 to Blackford-Sherwood.

In their dual before Carl Junction, the Lady Wildcats won only two matches — one singles, one doubles — against Willard.

No. 2 singles Mitchell defeated Sarah Kiesewetter 8-5 and No. 2 doubles Mitchell-Lindsay beat Neely Bridges and Karson Phipps 8-6.

No. 1 singles Werner lost 8-4 to Jungeon Go, No. 3 Lindsay 8-4 to Bridges, No. 4 McCauley 8-0 to Phipps, No. 5 Marion 8-0 to Burson, and No. 6 Emily Galbraith lost 8-1 to Courtney Yates.

No. 1 doubles Werner-McCauley fell 8-1 to Go-Kiesewetter and No. 3 Marion-Galbraith lost 8-2 to Burson-Yates.

Neosho — 2-3 overall, 0-3 COC — returned to action Thursday on the road against Ozark. The Lady Wildcats return home Monday for a dual against Mount Vernon.
