OZARK — A day after equaling their wins total from all of last season, the Neosho Lady Wildcats took a 8-1 defeat at the racquets of the Ozark Lady Tigers on Thursday.

No. 2 doubles Emily Mitchell and Michelle Lindsay defeated Madeleine Carpenter and Savannah Goodwin 8-1.

Otherwise, it was all Ozark in both singles and doubles, as well as six JV matches.

No. 1 singles Sarah Werner lost 8-1 to Abigail Taylor, No. 2 Mitchell 8-3 to Claire Metcalfe, No. 3 Lindsay 8-2 to Hannah Metcalf, No. 4 Gabrielle McCauley 8-2 to Alena Bulavina, No. 5 Rylee Marion 8-0 to Miller Bennett, and No. 6 Samantha Ortiz 8-2 to Madison Tourville.

No. 1 doubles Werner-McCauley lost 8-6 to Paige Chrastina-Harper Bennett and No. 3 Marion-Ortiz lost 8-4 to Karly Kolstad-Lyla Watson.

Ozark utilized 14 different players to fill its singles and doubles spots.

The Lady Wildcats returned to action Monday at home against Mount Vernon, and Neosho’s run at home includes duals Tuesday against Carthage and Thursday against Branson. The Lady Wildcats close out the week Friday in Republic tournament action.
