The East Newton Lady Patriots stand at 3-11 overall after their 2-0 loss (25-13, 25-14) Tuesday against Big 8 Conference West foe Lamar.
Madison McDermott finished with five kills and one ace, Ellie Enlow added two kills and nine digs, and Kennedy Lucke picked up eight assists.
East Newton picked up a pair of victories in last weekend’s Strafford Volleyfest, defeating both Osceola and School of the Ozarks in straight sets. The Lady Patriots dropped matches against El Dorado Springs, Monett, and Springfield Catholic, though.
The Lady Patriots head to Cassville for a match Thursday and then come to Neosho for tournament action Saturday.
East Newton lost three straight matches in the week leading up to Strafford: Mount Vernon 2-0 (25-17, 25-13), Wheaton (25-19, 25-13), and Pierce City (25-16, 25-22).
McDermott led East Newton with four kills and three block kills against Mount Vernon, while Lucke had four assists and Enlow two kills and 10 digs.
McDermott pieced together a solid match against Wheaton with eight kills, three block kills, and seven digs. Lucke joined in with six assists, Chloe Ferguson served three aces, and Norah Lucke added 11 digs.
McDermott had four kills and two block kills against Pierce City, Kennedy Lucke added five assists and two aces, and Norah Lucke dug out 11 Pierce City Lady Eagle shots.
