Diamond woman injured, charged with DWI after vehicle overturns on I-49
A Diamond woman was injured and charged with driving while intoxicated early Monday morning when her vehicle overturned on I-49 in Newton County, just four miles south of Joplin.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol report notes that Lacy Carneal, 30, was southbound in a 2006 Ford Freestyle when she traveled off the right side of the roadway before overturning. Carneal was seriously injured and transported to Mercy Hospital.
Carneal was also charged with careless and imprudent driving, driving without a valid license or proof of insurance and driving without a seatbelt.
The Ford Freestyle was totaled and towed from the scene.
